Makeup: It's Funny, But It's not Funny...lol!

Ok well everyone has their moments that they wish they could take back in makeup when they first started out.  Well I have had a few...yes I have muffed up some faces you would not believe. Now remember this everyone starts somewhere. So if you think your gonna go through the industry and not make mistakes...think again. So here are some personal moments, and things I have observed in It's Funny, But its not Funny!


FIRST TIME WITH LASHES!
For you first timers who put on strip lashes. When you tell a model or client to close their eyes when applying lashes. Don't I repeat, don't leave the lid closed the entire time when applying the lash. Why you may ask, well its a fact your gonna glue the eyes shut....yes you will. The heat from the lid causes the glue to travel and can possibly seep to the bottom lashes and adhere them shut.  It's Funny, But It's not Funny!


BURNING A EYELINER PENCIL
This may be common sense to some, but for others who are not thinking at the moment...lol here you go. If you decide to burn a eyeliner pencil with a lighter (instead of sharpen it...duh), wait until it has cooled for at least 45 seconds to a min.  Why...hmmm lets see, if you place a hot carbon eyeliner pencil on someones waterline, I can guarantee they will not be telling you how much they enjoyed working with you! It's Funny, But It's not Funny!


YES THIS HAS HAPPENED
Taking your tongue, and wetting the tip of your lip brush...eeeewwwh. Then using it to apply lip color on a client. Do you not think, they just saw you do that...lol! Talk about unsanitary. Please don't do this, there could be a fight in progress. It's Funny, But It's Not Funny!


EYESHADOW PLACEMENT...OOOHH BOY!
1. If you can see distinct lines in your eyeshadow, it means you haven't BLENDED it!
2. If you consider silver, black, yellow, lime green, or mountain berry blue, daytime looks...think again!
3. If your eyeshadow extends from the lid, all the way to the brow..smh...I will pray for you.
4. If your eyeshadow always matches your outfit, well I'm going to leave that one alone.
5. If you are color blind, purchase a color wheel. It can be helpful when applying eyeshadow.


EXPIRED PRODUCTS IN YOUR KIT
If you have products in your kit that have mold, stink, or bacteria you can see crawling in it....you might wanna throw it away. That, just ain't funny at all!
